I’ve said it before, but I always get super-excited when couples from overseas find us and hire us to produce their wedding stationery. There’s just something about the distance and the great big internet bringing us together that I find kind of amazing. Earlier this year, I got to work with a lovely British couple, who were recently married in Helsinki, Finland, this past September. Their wedding invitations were modern and elegant and I just love the way everything for them came together!
These wedding invitations featured a single A7 size invite and corresponding envelope. The invitation was letterpress printed in two ink colors: gold and red, on lovely, Holyoke 100% cotton bone white paper. The invitation design itself was simple and modern, which I personally really love! It featured the main body text of their invitation in a red, all-caps, classic, serif font and their names in gold in a simple script (at the request of the couple the names have been blurred to protect their privacy, however, trust me, the script was gold and simple and beautiful). The text was centered and was surrounded by a fun, organic pattern of little gold dots. It was so simple and pretty – I just love it! We paired their invitation with an antique gold envelope from Waste Not Paper Company and letterpress printed their return address on the flap in silver ink.
Check out the letterpress impression in the close up photo below!
This couple were wonderful to work with, even from such a great distance, and I absolutely love how their invitations turned out! If you’re not in Oregon, but are interested in working with us, please don’t hesitate to send us a quick “hello!”. We love working with clients from all across the country and around the world!

Happy Friday Everybody! This afternoon I’m really excited to show off an awesome set of wedding invitations that we made for a Eugene couple earlier this year! We’ve worked with Don and Stephanie on quite a few projects in the past, including business stationery for their company, Oregon Social Media. I was super-excited earlier this year when Don & Steph came back to me to collaborate on their wedding stationery. They were married this past June in the small town of Jacksonville, in southern Oregon, and wanted their invites to reflect a modern sensibility, as well as the rustic-ness of Jacksonville, and Oregon on the whole. What you see above is what we came up with!
Don & Stephanie’s wedding invitations featured an awesome, letterpress-printed A7 invite that was blind embossed with a fun woodgrain pattern, and printed in black ink, a coordinating invitation envelope, and a smaller, laser cut website/rsvp card. The main motif for their invites was the state of Oregon with a small heart in the bottom left corner where Jacksonville is. I was excited that we were able to incorporate this little state motif into all three of their pieces. The invitation and rsvp/website card were held together with baker’s twine in Don & Stephanie’s wedding colors: white, grey and yellow.
Their invitation was paired with a coordinating gravel grey envelope from Waste Not Paper Company with Don and Stephanie’s address letterpress printed on the back flap.
Check out the close-up image above of their invitation! We used a full-bleed blind embossed woodgrain pattern to decorate the background of this invite and then printed their invitation text over the top in black ink. I love the fun mix of funky, modern fonts that we were able to incorporate! You’ll also notice in the images below that the state motif was used to decorate the bottom!
One of the most exciting aspects of this invitation suite for me was Don and Steph’s rsvp/website card. We designed this card to be in the shape of the Oregon motif they had used on the other pieces, but in order to give the piece a little more interest, we laser cut the shape of the card and the little heart out of thin, maple wood veneer. Rather than printing the text onto the veneer, we engraved it with the laser cutter, so that it had the same depth and texture as the letterpress impression on the other pieces!
Twin Ravens Press is happy to work with you to design small wooden laser cut pieces to incorporate into your invitations or other projects, like this one. We’re also happy to work with you to create engraved wooden invitations, business cards, and or other stationery. These reply/website cards were made out of maple wood, but we have several different wood varieties in a variety of colors and textures for you to choose from! I love the way that this complimented the woodgrain pattern of Don & Steph’s invitation and I love how unique such a small piece can make a whole suite feel. I mean, how often do you get an engraved, wooden card in the mail? Not often, and they’re so cool!!
Thanks so much again, Don & Stephanie, for working with us on your wedding invitations! I always enjoy working with the two of you and I can’t wait to see what projects you have in store for us next!

Earlier this year we got to design and print an awesome set of business cards for an event designer based in Santa Monica, California! We actually began working with Lauren Stewart of Lauren Stewart Design + Events a few years ago, when she hired us to letterpress print wedding invitations for her own wedding. Not too long after her own wedding, Lauren started LSD+E, a boutique design and event production company specializing in the design and production of weddings, bridal showers, birthday parties, baby showers, engagement parties, and any other special events you can dream up! Lauren is really talented, and I’ve enjoyed working both with her and her clients over the last few years.
Lauren’s business cards, which you can see above and below, are double-sided, and were printed on extra-thick Crane Lettra 220# duplex 100% cotton paper. They feature a lovely light orange ink and a fun mix of modern fonts and graphics. Check out the images below for a closer look at both sides.
If you’re planning an event in Southern California soon, check out her website and contact Lauren! She’d love to help you create a gorgeous event!
Thanks so much Lauren! You rock!

Happy Monday Everyone! So, remember back in March of this year how I had this grand plan to post something exciting that we had designed and printed for friends every Monday? I was going to call it Buddy Monday, remember? Yeah, well, back in March work and life got crazy and busy, and I only managed to do my self-imposed weekly blogging commitment once, for good friends Sarah & Adam, who now live in Maine. Well, I’m here to report that I’m making self-imposed weekly blogging commitment attempt #2, with this whole Buddy Monday thing, because, honestly, even though I didn’t do it for long the first time, I’ve still got lots of awesome buddies that we’ve made stationery for out there, that I’d love to share with all of you. So, without further ado, here is our second Buddy Monday for friends, Lanie & John, who were married in September, in Napa, California.
Let me just say upfront, Lanie Williams is an awesome lady. I haven’t actually seen her in person in a few years at this point, but our moms became friends when we were growing up, and Lanie and her family are quite possibly some of the more awesome people I happen to know, which I feel is saying something, because I know quite a few awesome people. Lanie graduated from high school a few years before I did and moved out to the east coast for college, and now lives in Rhode Island. I don’t see her often, but I was still super-stoked when I found out that she was getting married and she asked me to design and print her wedding invitations.
Lanie wanted something pretty and modern and not too formal, which made designing these super-fun. One of the great things about designing stationery for close friends is that, often, they let you just kind of go to it and see what you come up with, and then make changes later. Well, Lanie and John pretty much just let me go to town with these, and I came up with a few different options, and the above is the one they picked! Lanie & John’s wedding invite is a single A-6 size card printed on 100% cotton Holyoke Antique White paper in three ink colors: grey, aubergine and olive green. I got to use a pretty sweet hand-drawn border and lots of fun patterns, both in the text (check out the pattern going on in the date) and in the general layout itself. We made a point to emphasize that their wedding was going to be a fun, laid-back, family affair, and I just love how the design came across as fun and casual, while still being really beautiful at the same time. The invite was paired with a matching olive green envelope that was lined with a fun, floral paper, that I did for Lanie as a surprise.
In the photo below, you can see their return address printed on the back flap of the envelope in grey. I carried the two cute little champagne glasses from the invite to the address, just to be a little matchy-matchy.
I love all the different fonts and patterns that I got to incorporate into this design! I also love the very modern treatment of the date, and Lanie & John’s color scheme. To keep things simple, we included the rsvp info on the invitation at the bottom. This is a great option if you don’t need a separate rsvp card.
Take a closer look at those awesome patterns and colors below!
And, last, but not least, I had to sneak a couple of photos from the wedding off of Lanie’s Facebook page. On the left is the cute couple – don’t they look gorgeous?!? And, on the top right is a photo of both the invite and their save-the-date at the wedding. In the bottom right is a pic of the whole Williams family with the bride & groom. I love them all so much!
Thanks so much again, Lanie, for letting me help out with your big day! One of these days I’ll make it out east to visit! It would be great to see you again! *hugs*

Earlier this year I was very excited to collaborate with fellow local Eugene artist and printer, Amy Vellutini, of Threadbare Print House on an awesome set of letterpress business cards. Amy is a screen printer specializing in t-shirts, posters and vinyl transfers and wanted some really kick-ass business cards to hand out. We incorporated her logo and a fun, modern typeface into these cards and printed them in two ink colors on Holyoke 100% cotton bone white paper. Aren’t they cool!?!
You can check out Threadbare’s work on their website or Facebook page. And, if you’re interested in having t-shirts made, Amy is running a LivingSocial Deal this week, so be sure to snatch that up! Thanks so much again, Amy! You rock!
