Check out these beautiful turquoise and silver invitations that we created earlier this year for Los Angeles couple, Jennifer & Sol! I just love turquoise and silver together, as a color combination, and I absolutely love the way we were able to combine modern, center-justified, san-serif type with pretty, swirly script for the names. The decorative silver flourishes in the top and bottom corners of the invite were also a really nice visual element!
Jenn & Sol’s invites were printed on super-soft, 100% cotton rag paper. I just love the way that the thin lettering truly creates a “bite” in the page!
The invitations were paired with a coordinating, shimmery, turquoise envelope that featured the couple’s return address printed on the back in silver ink. We also printed some more decorative flourishing on the front corners of each envelope!
Jenn & Sol’s gorgeous wedding was featured on Style Me Pretty! If you’d like to see some totally beautiful photos from their big day, go check them out!
Jenn & Sol were truly a pleasure to work with and I just love how their wedding invitations came out! If either of you are reading this, thanks so much again for working with us! If you ever need anything in the future, please don’t hesitate to let us know!

Check out the beautiful calligraphy that we letterpress printed for Louisiana couple, Amanda & Rhett’s, classic wedding invitations for their March 2013 wedding at the White Oak Plantation in Baton Rouge, Louisiana! The gorgeous calligraphy for these invites was done by Kathryn Podorsky of Della Carta Studio, and then letterpress printed by us, in black ink on 7″ square, luxurious Arturo Fine Stationery. These were paired with matching inner and outer envelopes. The outer envelopes featured Amanda’s parent’s return address in calligraphy on the back flap. Gorgeous!!
With the release earlier this year of the Hollywood remake of The Great Gatsby, we’ve been getting a few inquiries into “Great Gatsby” or Art Deco-themed wedding invitations. Check out this set that we created for Washington, DC couple, Lauren and David, who were married this past March in Cincinnati, Ohio! Lauren and David’s suite featured and A7 invite and 4bar reply card, printed on Duplex-weight 100% cotton paper in a medium grey ink, and coordinating grey envelopes that were printed with the couple’s return address in black ink. Both the invitation and reply card featured Art-Deco style borders and the font we used was also reminiscent of that era in design.
Aren’t these lovely?!? If you’re planning an urban, art-deco (or Gatsby) themed wedding, please contact us! We would love to work with you!

It’s hard to believe it, but fall is just around the corner, folks! Check out these gorgeous fall-themed Save-the-Date coasters that we printed for Meghan and Terrance this past spring! They were designed by the father-of-the-bride, and printed by us in two ink colors: orange and chocolate brown on premium, duplex Holyoke 100% cotton rag paper. I love the fancy leaf border on these! They’re so classy! Each save-the-date coaster was paired with a matching cream-colored envelope.
If you’re getting married this fall, and haven’t ordered your invitations yet, you had best get a move on it! If you’re getting married next fall, it’s never too early to start thinking about your save-the-dates!

One of the things I get asked for, all the time, is whether or not we can “put a modern twist on a classic wedding invitation”. The answer is “Yes!”. Twin Ravens Press prints lots of different “classic” and “traditional” looking wedding invitations, that incorporate modern elements into their design. For example, check out the suite that we created above, last year, for Massachusetts couple, Jackie & Brent. Jackie and Brent wanted a classic, elegant, black & white wedding invitation suite that incorporated a few modern details. Their suite included an invitation and reply card that featured black ink and blind embossing. Matching, white envelopes that were printed with black ink and a paper + ribbon belly band to tie the suite together. We lined the invitation envelope with a custom printed, light blue, damask liner for a touch of color!
As you can see below, the invitation itself is traditional looking. It features a nice, crisp letterpress impression in black ink, script names, roman body font and a decorative blind embossed pattern at the top and bottom to frame the text. These invitations were printed on super-thick, duplex-weight, 100% cotton paper.
As I mentioned above, both sets of envelopes were white and were designed to match the invitation. The reply card was also printed on duplex paper stock and featured blind embossing on the bottom of the card. Jackie & Brent’s belly band medallion was printed in black ink and featured their initials as a scripty monogram. Look how pretty it looked, tying their invitations together with an ivory, satin ribbon!
I love how this suite is a classic, black & white letterpress suite, making it perfect for just about any formal occasion, yet it incorporates some modern and whimsical elements like the belly band and damask envelope liner to add a splash of color! Contact us if you’re seeking something classic, with a contemporary twist for your upcoming event!
Check out the super-uniquely, awesome business cards we laser-cut and letterpress printed for Laura, of Laura Goldenberger Photography. Laura is a Los Angeles-based wedding and portrait photographer, with a bright and inviting style! Her business cards are one of the most unique sets we’ve had the pleasure of creating in a while! As you can see from the photo above, they’re a rather unique shape. Laura’s cards were designed by OnePartGypsy and executed by us. These cards were laser-cut from super-thick, 100% cotton, duplex weight paper, and then printed double-sided on our letterpress, in two different colors: turquoise and gold. I took some photos of the process, which you can see below. Each individual buffalo was laser-cut with a frame around it ,and then each framed buffalo was individually fed into our press. The front side of Laura’s card was her logo in full-bleed turquoise, which made registration tricky, but created an awesome overall look! The back side was printed in gold ink with Laura’s website and email address. After they were printed, each buffalo was removed from its frame by hand.
Aren’t they so cute, and absolutely memorable?!? I love custom-shaped things! If you want to learn more about Laura’s work, and check out her beautiful photographs, please visit her website or facebook page. She primarily shoots in Los Angeles and the Seattle area, but is willing to travel anywhere. Check her out!

Need a great gift for a friend or family member’s upcoming wedding? Wooden cutting boards make a unique, functional and beautiful gift for a wedding or other event! Check out this awesome one I finished engraving today for the Aunt of a bride who is getting married in September. This board was designed and created by my friend, Tim Boyden, of Out on a Limb Gallery. It measures approximately 10 inches square and is made of of various hardwoods. I then engraved the couples’ names and their wedding date in the bottom right hand corner, in the same font that they used for their wedding invitations! What a lovely gift!
To see some of Tim’s other work, please visit his blog. If you’re interested in ordering a cutting board or other laser-engraved item, please contact us, or Tim at Out on a Limb Gallery.
Personal stationery can make a great gift or treat for yourself or a loved one! A little while back we printed this lovely set of stationery for long-time client, Amy McCann. You may remember a set of business cards that we created for Amy and her partners at Local Food Marketplace a while back. Amy wanted a set of matching stationery for her to use personally, and this is what we came up with! This stationery was printed on 100% cotton ecru paper in two ink colors: red and chocolate brown, and featured Amy’s name and Local Food Marketplace’s tomatoes at the top. We paired them with matching, ecru envelopes that were unprinted. Aren’t they pretty?!?
If you’re interested in ordering a set of personal stationery for yourself or a loved one, please don’t hesitate to contact us! We’d love to hear from you!
This was one of my favorite, modern, fall wedding invitations from last year! We created this awesome set of stationery for Miami, Florida couple Amanda & Jorge, who were married last October. Their colors were grey and red and we incorporated them, along with a very modern, architectural drawing of their venue, and modern typography into their wedding suite. The suite included an A7 size wedding invitation, 4 bar reply card, 3″ square place cards, and A2 size thank you cards, all with coordinating envelopes. All pieces were printed on Crane Lettra 100% cotton bright white paper.
I just love the way that the modern typography and architectural drawing really sets the tone for an urban, modern wedding! The invitation, which you can see above, was printed in both colors, while all of their other pieces were printed in one or the other. I love the way that the bright red ink we used on the invite, really makes Amanda & Jorge’s names stand out! It’s such a great, modern design!
All of the other pieces were designed to match the invite, including the reply card you see above and the place cards and thank you cards that you see below. I love how the thank you cards were flat, and featured just the couple’s married names. This way, they could use these as personal stationery as well, if they had any left over after their thank you’s had all been sent out! This is an awesome, versatile way to get both thank you cards and personal stationery out of the same print run!
Thanks so much again for working with us Amanda & Jorge! If you ever need anything else, please don’t hesitate to let me know! We’d love to work with you again! All the best!
