Weddings | Catherine & Ross

Catherine&Ross3

Last year we had the privilege of working on a really beautiful set of custom wedding invitations with local graphic designer, Brianne Beigh, and Seattle, Washington couple, Catherine & Ross, for their late July wedding.  I love the combination of handwriting and modern san-serif fonts that Brianne used in this design, and I adore how she kept the colors and style of all the pieces coordinating from the save-the-dates (which were printed much earlier in the year) to the invitation suite!

Catherine&Ross4

Striking combinations of metallic gold, matte gold, and a deep slate grey on crisp white paper really made for a stunning, and formal combination of color!  I love how we were able to find a really fun gold on cream patterned envelope liner paper for each of the invitation envelopes that coordinated so well with the design and ink colors used on the wedding invitation!

The reply card and envelope was also designed to match and featured one ink color (slate grey) on the same, crisp, white, 100% cotton paper.  The rsvp envelopes were unlined and had the couple’s address letterpress printed in matte white foil on a dark grey envelope.

The save-the-dates, which were designed and printed much earlier in the year, also matched the invitation suite!

I just love how everything in this suite turned out!

Catherine and Ross worked with Seattle photographer, Barbie Hull, for their wedding photography, and Barbie was kind enough to share the image below of the invitations which she took on their wedding day!

So beautiful!

Thank you so much again, Brianne, Catherine, and Ross, for working with me!  If you ever need anything else, please don’t hesitate to let me know!

Save-the-Date | Sara & Jay are Getting Married!

IMG_6880

Happy Friday, everyone!  Check out the awesome, playful, wedding save-the-date postcards that we just finished earlier this afternoon!  These cards are roughly an A2-size, but were laser-cut into an Oregon shape, since the couple is getting married in Oregon this summer.  I loved the idea of doing a postcard in a unique shape and totally jumped at the chance to work with Sara and Jay on making these a reality!

IMG_6881

Sara sent us the adorable photo of her and jay that you see above, and we had them printed on linen paper.  That linen paper with the photo was then duplexed onto a custom 100% cotton letterpress paper, and laser-cut into the Oregon shape that you see above.  After the laser-cutting was complete, each save-the-date was letterpress printed on an antique, 1912 Chandler & Price Letterpress in our shop in one ink color (a medium forrest green) on the reverse side!

Sara3

These were designed to be mailed as postcards, so the information we printed is on the left, and Sara and Jay will put their guest’s addresses and stamps on the right side.

Aren’t they just too cool?!?  Thanks so much for working with us on these Sara & Jay!

Are you getting married in 2016 and are hoping to order save-the-dates?  If so, check out our January special on save-the-date cards.  If you place your order with us on or before January 31st, you’ll receive 20% off, and could easily mimic the style you see above, or any other save-the-date style you see on our site, or receive the discount on a custom one of your own!

Spurcycle Coasters

IMG_6876

I’ve had a busy day, so this post is going to be brief, but I wanted to tell you all about a really cool promotional product that we did back in December for an awesome little company in Sausalito, California called Spurcycle!  Spurcycle was founded in 2012 and specializes in designing and producing beautiful bicycle products.  Owners Nick & Clint Slone are engineers who embrace clean, quality designs that serve well understood cycling needs.  Their main product is the gorgeous brass and stainless steel bike bell that you see below.  They are made in the USA and guaranteed for life!

Aren’t they beautiful?!?

At any rate, back in December Clint contacted us about letterpress printing a promotional product that they could write notes on and slip in with their orders.  We worked with them to produce the beautiful black hot foil stamped coasters that you see at the top of this post and below.  These coasters were letterpress printed with a shiny black foil and die-cut from Sirio Ultra Black cover stock.  They are 3.5″ in diameter and feature the company logo on one side and space to write (in white, metallic or gel pen) on the back!  They’re so clean and crisp and I just love how the black-on-black combination turned out!

Here’s a candid photo we took that you may have seen on our Instagram back in December of all of the coasters in a giant stack after they came off of the press.

Thanks so much for working with me Clint, Nick, & Adisti!  I really enjoyed working with you on this project and hope we can collaborate again in the future!

Baby Announcements | Adelaide Joyce

IMG_6857

It’s always a huge compliment when another design, stationery, or other paper-related professional hires you to letterpress print work for them personally.  Twin Ravens Press began working with very talented calligrapher, Katie Hoffman, of Katie Hoffman Ink, in Corvallis, Oregon, not all that long ago, and we were thrilled when she hired us to letterpress print her first-born daughter’s baby announcements this past fall!

IMG_6859

Adelaide’s announcements are simple, beautiful, and classic.  Katie did all of the calligraphy and design herself, including creating the custom monogram at the top.  They were printed in a very light, warm grey ink on light pink Arturo cotton paper.  Arturo paper is mould-made to size (rather than produced in a large parent sheet and then cut to size), so each announcements had authentic deckled edges all the way around!

So pretty!!  Thanks so much Katie for working with us to announce and welcome your little girl into the world!!

Business Cards | Kathryn Malone

IMG_6838

I really love it when friends and family design business cards for the people they love!  It’s such a fun, personal, and highly useful gift.

The cards you see above were a Christmas present this year from a boyfriend (Geordie) to his girlfriend, personal chef, Katy Malone.  Geordie created the hand drawn vegetables and fruits for the decoration on these cards, and then worked with me to select fonts, ink colors, and a paper that she would like.  The above cards were printed in a deep chocolate brown ink on handmade paper from Porridge Papers‘ Blue Collar line.  The paper we selected is called “Brewhaus”, which is a handmade, super-soft, recycled paper with spent grain inclusions of wheat and barley from a brewery in Lincoln, Nebraska.  I just love how eco-friendly and totally thematically appropriate they are for a chef working in the Pacific Northwest!

Weddings | Corinne and Tyler

Corinne5

One of my very favorite custom wedding invitations from 2015 was a suite we did for a local couple with a very Pacific Northwest vibe!  Inspired by the beautiful landscapes and gorgeous outdoor textures of central Oregon, this wedding invitation suite combines many of our favorite materials, and features adorable woodsy touches!

Corinne1

Corinne & Tyler’s invitations feature rich letterpress ink colors in chocolate browns, tans, and evergreen. Their main invitation, reply card, and Oregon-shaped map and directions card were printed on handmade cotton paper from Porridge Papers in Lincoln, NE.  We laser-cut their oversized t-length invitation to feature a panorama of the Oregon Pacific Cascade mountain range. The mountains along the top include prominent Oregon landmarks: Mount Tumalo, Broken Top, South Sister, Middle Sister, North Sister, Mount Washington, 3 Finger Jack, and Mount Jefferson!

Corinne2Corinne7

I absolutely adore the fun mix of fonts and all of the cute animals that Corinne had me incorporate into their design!

The RSVP card was attached to the invitation, but came perforated so that guests could tear it off and mail it back.

Corinne3Corine6

The suite also included a small, double-sided, map & directions card that was cut into the shape of Oregon.  The front side had a map with prominent roads and freeways, the Cascade Mountain Range, other prominent natural landmarks, and important towns and cities that were related either to the couple or their wedding.  The backside of the Oregon-shaped map had written directions and other relevant information for guests who were planning to drive to the wedding.  Everything was tied together in this suite with rustic, natural twine and the twine had a small maple wood tag hanging from it, engraved with the couple’s wedding date.

Corinne4

For the day of the wedding, Corrine and Tyler had me design a custom, letterpress Mad Lib for their guests to fill out in lieu of a traditional guest book!  I thought the idea was totally adorable and it was so much fun to incorporate the same fonts and so many of the decorative design elements (Squirrels!) from their invitations into their Mad Libs.  I imagine it was very fun for Corinne and Tyler to see what their guests had written after the wedding was over!

Corinne&Tyler6

Thanks so much Corinne & Tyler for letting me be a part of your special day!
