I’m pretty excited to announce a very fun little project that I’ve been working on with a good friend, and owner of Funhouse Productions, in Eugene, Drew Parrish! Together we created the Post Cake! Post Cake is a mailable, 3-dimensional postcard, shaped like a real piece of chocolate cake. The frosting even smells like chocolate! All you have to do is add stamps, and the post office will take care of the rest (no box or extraneous packaging material is required for mailing). Each cake has a letterpress printed postcard on the back with space for your own personal message.
These cakes are available in our Etsy shop for $12.00/ea. We’re also gladly accepting bulk, wholesale and custom orders! Go check them out!
If you’ve been following our blog or Etsy Shop for a while, you’ll know that one of my favorites of our designs is our Origami Crane String Card. I love this design so much, that I’ve printed it in several different color combinations, and I’m happy to announce that this newest color-way is now available in our Etsy Shop and for wholesale orders! These new cards are an A2 size and come with coordinating light blue envelopes. They are available in sets of 12, sets of 6, and as singles. Please contact us if you’d like to order more than what is currently available on our Etsy site. We gladly welcome bulk and wholesale orders!

These cards are sold as mixed sets of 12. There are 4 different designs, and each box contains 3 of each of them. All robot cards are printed in black ink on pearl white, 100% cotton paper and all of the cards are paired with light grey envelopes. Hey Everybody! I know I’ve been a terrible blogger this past month, and I want to apologize to you for that. However, my lack of blogging has been directly related to my steady production of stationery awesomeness, so really, you’ll have to forgive me. I wanted to catch you up on a few new cool things, starting with new, cool things that are available in our Etsy shop! I just posted three new items, and I think you’re going to love them!
Now, I know that Valentine’s Day was over two months ago, but, let’s be honest here. I’m just going to come right out and admit it: I love love. I love it when people are awesome and adoring and sexy and happy and fantastic to each other. We should celebrate that continuously, not just on a singular day in February. So, while these cards would be awesome valentines, I’d also like to suggest that they be used to express general, awesome, happy sentiments to those you love, year round.
The other brand new greeting card I posted today is a little more widely applicable. I originally made this card for my mom, because she says this to me all the time, but then figured that other people (you!) might like it too! I know it’s not a contest or anything, but sometimes it’s important to assert the level at which you love someone. So, I Love you more…
And, last, but not least, I’ve been getting a lot of requests lately from wedding clients and others about table numbers. I’ve also been getting a lot of requests for custom coasters. So, I thought, “Why not combine the two?”. Now available are this set of twelve letterpress printed number coasters. They’re pretty perfect for use as wedding table numbers or for helping guests keep track of their drinks at parties. Each coaster is 4″ round, printed with black letterpress ink, and they come packaged as a set of 12 in a clear acrylic box. Go get ’em!

I’m thrilled to announce that we now have three new, awesome greeting card designs available in our Etsy shop from our continued collaboration with Eugene artist and designer, Josh Searl. We first began working with Josh just over a year ago and have had two of his adorable monster designs available since (you can find them here and here). I love working with Josh, and think that his creatures are so funny and cute. You can see the three new designs above: two different birds, and one adorable dinosaur. All three of these designs were letterpress printed as 4bar size cards (measuring 3.5″x4.875″) and each comes with a coordinating envelope. They are available as singles for $4.00 each. If you would like to order more than one of any of the designs, or are interested in a mixed set, please email us. Bulk discounts apply.
If you’d like to check out more of Josh’s artwork, you can on his DeviantArt site. Thanks so much again Josh! I just love your work!!

Before we get too far into 2013, I wanted to take a moment to show off the awesome custom holiday cards we created for our clients for this past holiday season. It always brings a smile to my face when a client from the past that we made wedding invitations or birth announcements, or business cards for, comes back during the holidays to order a special holiday or New Year’s card. I also love getting holiday and New Year’s card orders from new clients! Everyone can use a little letterpress in their life, whether they’re getting married or not! Above is a small collection of my favorite custom holiday cards that we printed in 2012!
Allie and Ryan Hole were married in 2011 in California and they hired us to print their Save-the-Date cards, which you can see here. For their holiday cards this year, they decided to re-use the tandem bike and whippets from their Save-the-dates, and had me “holiday-it-up” a little bit. In order to do this, I paired the original drawing with a snowflake theme and some festive fonts to create the A6 flat holiday card you see below. These were printed in gold ink on Crane Lettra Ecru Paper.
Another sweet, doggie-themed holiday card we created this past season was for Julia Swartz of Maryland Standard Poodles. Julia published a children’s book entitled “Wishing Star: a Poodle’s Tale” about a year ago, and hired us to print some letterpress greeting cards to commemorate the publication. Julia still carries those cards as well as these new ones, and the book, in her online shop. Go check them out! Everything you will see there is really adorable!
These blue, A7-size flat holiday cards for Lisa Brooks and her husband, James, were very sweet and classic! We printed these in a single ink color on 100% cotton paper and paired them with matching blue envelopes.
Along the same lines as Lisa’s cards were these awesome folded holiday greetings for Portland, Oregon couple York and Julie! I love the retro typefaces and the awesome use of overprinting. York designed these holiday cards himself, and I just love how well he took advantage of the letterpress process’ strengths.
One particularly touching set of cards I printed this December was for a Seattle family whose daughter had vanquished cancer in 2012. Sally Lanham hired us to customize our Crane String Cards with a personal message on the inside. I think this was a lovely way to celebrate her daughter’s triumph over cancer, and to wish their friends and family a healthy, Happy New Year.
Another couple that I’ve been working with for several years now, hired us to do holiday cards this year that both celebrated the season, and announced their move into their first (“Furst” is their last name) home! Miami couple, Rachel and Joseph Furst are awesome and I just loved printing these cards for them! We also printed their wedding invitations back in 2009, and their holiday cards in 2010. The drawing of their new house for this year’s card was done by the couple’s architect! I think it turned out so awesome!
I also bought my first house in 2012 and was inspired by Rachel & Joseph to use that achievement as the theme for my own holiday cards this year. I was a little late sending mine out (as always – when you work on other folks’ stationery all day, you’re not terribly motivated to do your own), but you can check them out below! The small house drawing was done (really fast) by moi.
Thanks so much everyone who ordered holiday cards this past year! It’s always a pleasure working with all of you! I’m looking forward to more exciting letterpress adventures in 2013!
Back in November a lovely Etsy shopper in the UK, named Catherine, contacted me about ordering a set of our Red Origami Crane Thank You Cards. She was getting married in April and wanted to use them as thank you cards after her wedding. She also told me that she loved my crane design so much that she was hoping to get it tattooed in celebration of her impending nuptials. She wanted to know if it was okay with me for her to use my design as a tattoo. Frankly, I found the idea totally exciting, and said yes.
I was extra excited to wake up this morning and discover an email from Catherine. She got married last week and sent us a photo of her awesome wedding shoes, with our little red crane peeking out from them.
Isn’t that totally awesome?!? I’m honored. Plus, I LOVE her shoes. I’m so excited that Catherine shared this photo with us and that she loved my little crane artwork so much that she wanted to carry it with her forever. : )
Above is an image of the original card design that Catherine had her tattoo based off of. These cards are available in our Etsy Store as singles and in packages of six or ten. Larger quantities and bulk pricing is available for larger orders. If you’d like some little red cranes of your own, go check them out!
