Check out this classy, black & white set of save-the-dates we printed last week for New York City couple, Terry and Maurice! Terry commissioned the drawing you see at the top of this piece from an artist in New York City, and then sent it to us to be incorporated in to her Save-the-Dates! She and Maurice wanted a classic layout that would compliment both their drawing, and be reflective of their venue: The Walters Art Museum in Baltimore, Maryland. For the design of these cards, we chose a long and skinny #10 size card and envelope, and printed both the drawing and copy in a single ink color: black. The paper that Terry and Maurice chose is 100% cotton rag Holyoke Paper in Antique White, with soft white envelopes from Waste Not Paper Company.
In the above group of photos you can see the save-the-date on the left. I love how the typography that we used for this Save-the-Date really matches the style of the drawing at the top so well! It’s a really fun, contemporary script, and I think it paired so nicely with the other elements of this design. You can see in the top right image that we used the same fonts from the invite for Terry and Maurice’s return address on their envelopes, so everything would match perfectly. In the bottom right image, check out how the text just sinks into the 100% cotton paper from the letterpress printing. I do love gorgeous black letterpress printing on white or ivory paper – it’s just so classy!
And, lastly, one more cute close-up of the couple, in hand-drawn, letterpress printed form. Aren’t they cute!?! I’m excited to begin working on Terry and Maurice’s formal invitations in the next couple of months. If you love how these save-the-dates turned out, check back in later in the year to see their formals! Thanks so much Terry and Maurice! Talk to you soon!
