Join Us For the Third Annual Letterpress Printer's Fair in Portland!

If you’re in Portland, Oregon, tomorrow, Saturday, August 14th, you should come and visit us at the Third Annual Letterpress Printer’s Fair!  This show only happens once a year and features many different studios and individuals from the Portland Letterpress Community as well as shops (like ours!) from other parts of Oregon and Washington!  The Printer’s Fair is an outdoor event and will be held at the Em Space Book Arts Center, which is located at 323 SE Division Place near the start of the Spring Water Corridor Trail.  The show will feature vendors and suppliers of letterpress printing equipment, foundry type, cards, broadsides, ephemera and more.  There are going to be many great deals to be had and a lot of folks available to answer questions about letterpress printing.  So, if you’re in Portland, and if you’ve ever been curious about what we do, and would like to see us in-person, come on down and say “Hi!”.  We’d love to see you!

Holiday Meet Your Maker Show & Sale this Sunday!

Happy Friday Everyone! If you’re in the Eugene/Springfield, Oregon area this weekend and are looking for something fun to do, come out to the Meet Your Maker Holiday Show + Sale this Sunday at the Fenario Gallery in downtown Eugene! The Fenario Gallery is located at 881 Willamette Street and the show will run from 11:00-5:00. The Fenario Gallery is a much larger space than the show has been in before, so there will be many more vendors and lots of holiday goodies to check out! I’ve been busy this week printing up lots and lots of holiday cards, all of which will be available on Sunday!

In other (related) news, I was recently interviewed by the ladies of Meet Your Maker about letterpress, Twin Ravens Press, how we got our start, etc. If you’d like to read the interview, it’s posted on their blog here.
Have a Happy Weekend and I hope to see you Sunday!

A Successful Fair!

The 2nd Annual Letterpress Printer’s Fair in Portland yesterday was a huge success, with over 500 Portlanders and Letterpress enthusiasts visiting throughout the day to check out over two dozen vendor’s letterpress printed cards, broadsides, posters, books, equipment and other letterpress ephemera that was for sale at Liberty Hall.  Twin Ravens Press was selling mostly letterpress printed greeting cards and coasters, most of which can be found online in our etsy store if you missed the show, as well as some random equipment odds and ends.
I owe a big thank you to Carye Bye of Red Bat Press and Ivan Snyder of the AAPA for organizing the show.  I also owe a big thanks to my very good friend and fellow Eugene printer, Bob Giles, for all of his help manning our table yesterday.  It was a lot of fun and I look forward to helping out with and attending next year’s show!  If you weren’t local to Portland and/or couldn’t make it out to the show, check out some additional photos at Red Bat Press’ flickr stream here.  We also got a very lovely write-up on Art Scatter, which you can read here.
Have a Happy Sunday and I’ll be seeing you next week!

2nd Annual Letterpress Printer's Fair in Portland, Oregon

If you’re going to be in Portland, Oregon this Saturday, August 8th, you really ought to come down to Liberty Hall at 311 N. Ivy and check out the Second Annual Letterpress Printer’s Fair.  Several presses will be in attendance at the fair from 11 am to 4 pm, including Twin Ravens Press, Red Bat Press, Em Space Book Arts Center, Garage No. 3, The Independent Publishing Resource Center and several others.  I will be selling letterpress greeting cards, coasters and some fun letterpress odds-n-ends.  I will also have for sale a NuArc Photopolymer/Offset Plate Burner.  The show was both successful and fun last year and I imagine it’s going to be even grander this second time around.  Come down and check it out!
