Eugene, Oregon!  Join us this afternoon, Friday, February 5th for the First Friday Art Walk in downtown, Eugene!  We will be doing a letterpress demo at Passionflower Design located at 128 West Broadway, along with members of the Valley Calligraphy Guild who will be showing off impressive penmanship, just in time for all of your Valentine’s Day card and shopping needs!

You may have joined us for Art Walk at Passionflower this past December when we were there right before Christmas!  If you did, you would have seen me with our tiniest letterpress Kelsey, aka “The Brat” printing the adorable holiday tags pictured below (that’s me, in the suspenders!).

Adorable Monster Cards by Josh Searl

Right before Valentine’s Day this year I had the pleasure of collaborating with an awesome local artist, Josh Searl, on a couple of new greeting card designs!  If you’ve visited our Etsy store since then, you’ve already seen these, but I figured they needed a little shout out on our blog too.  Josh is a design student at the University of Oregon and has been drawing adorable critters and making other awesome artwork from a very young age.  I’m good friends with his aunt and uncle, and was super-excited when Josh agreed to collaborate with me on these cards.  We started with two designs, the little blue monster you see above and below, and the little green one with the pink balloon that you’ll see further down in this post.

Aren’t they just adorable?!?  Both designs are printed as 4bar size cards on 100% cotton Crane Lettra Pearl White paper and come with coordinating blue or chartreuse envelopes, depending on the design.  Josh and I are going to be working on additional designs in this series, so if you love his monsters as much as I do, check back!  There’s going to be more!  The two designs you see above are currently available online in our Etsy Store and at Gramberry.  You can also find them locally in Eugene at Modern on 5th and Pearl.

Valentine's Day is Coming!

Happy February 1st everybody!  Is it just me, or is 2012 already flying by?!? With Love | Custom Wedding Thank You Cards

I hope everyone out there had a lovely Labor Day weekend!  We worked with three different couples who were married this past weekend whose stationery we haven’t shown off on this blog yet, so a big congratulations goes out to them, and we’ll be getting those up here, for your viewing enjoyment later this week.  In the meantime, however, I wanted to show off a really cool set of thank you notes from another couple’s wedding that we printed earlier this summer.  The bride, Jennifer, contacted us after seeing our similarly-styled Valentine’s love notes in our etsy shop, and wanted to know if we could design and print a similar card for her wedding thank you’s!  We could – and did!  Check out the photos above and below.  The original design featured the “Love” letters in the same manner as this design, but it also featured little grey birds flying around and perched on them.  For Jennifer’s thank you’s we got rid of the little birdies, changed the color from a light pink to a lavender purple and created a banner to float above the “Love” letters with the word “With” and their silhouettes on it.  These cards were paired with a matching light purple envelope from Waste Not Paper Company to complete the set!

You Turn Me On.

Happy Friday everyone!  It’s been quite a while since I listed anything new in our etsy shop, so I figured today was as good of a day as any to remedy that.  Way back in January I had some big plans to release several new greeting card designs for Valentine’s Day, and then I broke my leg, and my attention immediately shifted from doing both custom work and creating new cards for the shop, to making sure that custom work got done.  As a result, we didn’t release anything new for Valentine’s Day, which is okay.  Sometimes things happen that are out of your control.  I did, however, print up this super-fun, geeky, sassy, little card right before my accident and even though it’s no longer Valentine’s season, I figured, “Hey, you can be geeky and turned on at any point during the year.  Why not celebrate that?”  So, here it is folks, the Twin Ravens Press “You Turn Me On” card.

These cards are printed on 100% cotton Crane Lettra paper with silver ink and each card comes with a coordinating light blue envelope.  They can be purchased individually here in our etsy shop, or if you are a retailer interested in ordering these in bulk at our wholesale price, please contact me directly.

In other Etsy-related news, our String of Crane’s cards were featured in an Etsy Treasury today entitled “Full Spectrum. Go.”. Happy Belated Valentine's Day!

I hope everyone had a wonderful and long Valentine’s Day and President’s weekend this past weekend.  I’ve been meaning to do a little blog post for a while now to show off all of our new love-themed cards for Valentine’s and this spring, but we’ve been so busy with custom work lately that this blog has been sadly neglected for over a week.  If you’ve been watching our Etsy shop, you’ve probably already seen these designs, but in case you haven’t here they are below!  With the exception of the Valentine Checklist card, I feel that all of these designs would be a wonderful way to tell the people you care about and are thinking about that you love them throughout the year!  And really, who doesn’t love getting a sweet “I love you and I’m thinking of you.” message at random?  Just because it’s not Valentine’s Day anymore, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t tell ’em you love ’em.  
Our first new love-inspired design is an A2 size card that we’re calling “Love Letters”.  Inspired by vintage valentine’s and wedding postage stamps this letterpress card features the letters L-O-V-E inside of a light pink rectangle with little grey finches perched on and flying towards them.  You can see the full card at the top of this post and there are a few detail images below.  

Check out how awesome the embossed white letters look in the above detail photo!  They are really fun and tactile and beautiful to see and touch!  Each of these cards comes with a corresponding A2 envelope in light pink and they are available for purchase as singles here.
For our next new love-inspired card, we decided to try out a brand new card size.  The size is a monarch size, which measures 7.25″ x 3.75″.  I’ve done a few save-the-date cards for weddings and a few programs that were this size in the past, and I liked the size so much that I thought I’d try it out for a greeting card.  Check it out below:
Each of these cards features an adorable baby elephant running across the front with a trail of little pink heart-shaped bubbles trailing behind him.  The bubbles continue across the front of the card and a few even float around to the backside.  It features a very simple message: “Love you.”, letterpress printed on the front and it is blank on the inside for your own personal message.  Want one of your own?  You can find it here.  
Our totally Valentine’s specific design for this year was a cute and somewhat humorous checklist card.  The card is a 5.5″ square size that is folded and has a lovely brown, leafy vine pattern stretching around the list on the front.  The list was printed in brown also with little pink checkboxes that you can fill in yourself depending on who you plan to send it to.  It’s really the perfect card for all of the Valentines on your list!  Here is a photo:

And, last but not least, is an adorable card design for the dog-lover in all of us!  My family and I had black labrador retrievers growing up and they were such wonderful family pets – and so sweet and loyal – that I decided to make a love card featuring them.  The card design is fairly simple – there is a black lab on the front with a light pink heart in his mouth.  See below:

Today we were delightfully surprised to find one of our Valentine’s Day cards being featured on the blog Oh So Beautiful Paper.  Check out the delightful author, Nole’s, blog post here.  The one at the top of this post is the one being featured on her site.  We have a couple of other V-day designs available right now in the etsy store and will be adding more new ones starting early next week.  This robot is always a sweet (and awesome) choice:
